Angie's Birthday

I had dance class on the stage again we are working on our final performance pieces. I worked for awhile and then headed to Cold Spring to deliver the wreaths we sold earlier. After that 10 of us went to Applebee's for Angie's birthday dinner. Then we went back to our apartment and had great cake that Cassie had made yesterday. AKS meeting where I handed out tons of clothing. Homework time for me!

Angie's Power Hour

As always I have three classes today which all have a ton of homework! But it is Angie's power hour so homework was useless. People started coming over around 8 and we had a few pre-bar drinks with everyone. There was also a frosting fight between Cassie, Grant, and I while making the cake for tomorrow. At the bar she managed to have 11 shots and was doing quiet well when we left. It was a good night!

Thanksgiving Break

Wednesday - I worked at Canterbury Park. Then my mom and I went to Claddagh's for Shamrock wings and Strongbow on tap. We rented movies and spent the night at home waiting for Dad and Jen to get back from Madison.

Thursday - We all went to Cold Spring to my aunt and uncle's house for Thanksgiving. I was a pretty low key day and I relearned the card game of 500. We all watched Garfield when we got home.

Friday - Worked at Canterbury again. When I got home my dad helped me revamp my resume and applied for a job and an internship for after graduation in May.

Saturday - I went to coffee with a friend of mine from high school. We went and visited my grandpa in the nursing home before heading to another aunt's house for my third and final Thanksgiving.

Sunday - Homework central and back to school!

Manic Monday!

It was another crazy Monday for me! They always seem to be the worst days of the week for me. I had my movie analysis and debate review papers due for Reformation. H&M was okay. Then I had to finish researching and preparing my presentation on Northern Ireland for Anthropology. Our presentation took about an hour which was good. Chelsea and I headed to O'Connell's to get coffee afterwards and we head to go back and watch a really boring movie! After class I had to go to work and then head over to St. John's to watch another movie for H&M. Then of course I worked on more homework since it was Monday after all!

Canterbury and Anthropology Group Project

I worked at Canterbury today but got off early because I have a lot of work to do my group project before our meeting tonight and my grandparents are in town. I went out to dinner at Baker's Square with them and my parents before returning to school. Then I met up with Chelsea to work on our project before we all met together in the library to finalize our game plan. I think we'll be okay.

Moorhead Bound

I got up just in time to catch the bus to Moorhead for our swim meet today. It was women's meet only since Concordia doesn't have a men's team. We won the meet with flying colors and then headed home again. I fell asleep on the way home and then stayed at home for the rest of the night doing homework.

Surprisingly Productive Friday

I helped out my friend, and crew teammate, Lynn with her psychology experiment. Then I watched the film for Reformation that I had missed because of the Thanksgiving dinner. Worker for over two hours today and then spent a quiet night at home watching movies because of the swim meet tomorrow.

Third Day of Great Food in a Row & My First Beer Pong Night

No Reformation today because my professor's mother is dying and she has gone to be with her. After H&M, class not the store, I get ready for my Buisness Etiquette Dinner since I had to go to work, a history club meeting, and then to the dinner all in a row. History club decided to go bowling with the faculty right before finals and that we have a bunch of great ideas for next semester. The dinner was nice even though I knew most of it already, but free food is free food. Then it was time to finially get out of that buisness suit! Of to Sal's with Chelsea so she could play beer pong. I took full advantage of the $7 all-you-can-drink special and then topped off the night with a jag bomb. Good way to end the working week for me!

Thanksgiving Numero Uno

After dance and work I headed over to St. John's for Thanksgiving Dinner. This something the school does every year I had not been yet. The swim teams go all together which is tons of fun. There was everything you could imagine for a proper Thanksgiving dinner: Turkey, dressing, gravy, corn, rolls, corn bread, and pumkin pie. It was so good! I had a blask getting to know some of the guys from the men's team since I had met some of them the past weekend at the meet. I then headed into a turkey coma as soon as I got home.

Debate and Generational Dinner

I had to debate today in Reformation acting as an Abbess during the Reformation. I think it went pretty well even though we were missing people for our session. This should redeem my grade some in this class. Then after work I had the Generational Dinner which brought together students for all four class and alumnea. I ended up sitting next to the new president of the university. She seemed quite impressed with me and everything that I had done last semester in Europe. Not too shabby, I'd say.

Gymnastics Day

In dance class today we did all sorts of rolls, dives, somersaults, and handstands! Fun, fun, fun! In anthropology we had the class broken into two groups so I only had 1 1/2 hours of class instead of 3! Off to work and then tons and tons of homework!

Fundraising and Anthropology

I obviously slept in since I didn't go to bed until nearly 5:30! I showered and head over to Cold Spring wtih Alina to sell wreaths for our ASB trip to the Dominican Republic for fundraising. After we were done we had lunch at Subway. I worked on my anthropology reading and watched the AMAs before my group meeting for our anthropology presentation next week.

Tommie/Johnnie Day

I got up and headed to McGylnn's for breakfast with the swim team before we head over to St. John's for our first home meet. We are swimming against Carleton, who happens to have an Olymipc Trials swimmer on their team. I am running the computer for the meet, figuring out diving scores, and results. It's really fun and I am working with the St. John's manager Brock, who is really cool. The women end up loosing but they swam well. After the meet we have a social in the Palaestra. After that I head out to the game which is just past half-time. I sit with Sara and Colleen. St. John's wins the game 21-0 and it is our last college football game since we are not heading to the playoffs for the first time in eight years. We take pictures with the Rat Pak. Then I head back home and take a nap, but sleep through Paul's recital because I am a narcaleptic. When I wake up again it's almost 10 at night and I get ready and head to Sal's since John is there and we are going there to prepare for the cast party for Oresteia which is latter at night. We have a lot of fun hanging out together and then head to the Rat Trap for an after bar since the cast and crew are still striking the set. When we finally get to the cast party it is pretty slow until we start playing spin the 'bottle.' Needless to say it progressed quite nicely even though there wasn't alcohol involved. Then we started dancing. Most of us kept switching between dancing and spin the bottle for a while until too many of us were dancing to continue the game. We danced until the wee hours of the morning, 5 AM!

International Friend and Swimming Dinner

I actually had both of my classes today! In Reformation we had the first have of a Reformation debate were we all took on the characters of people affected by the Reformation. It actually was fun but a little intimidating since I have to go on Tuesday. In Historiography we started debating the movie and modern western history. Then I took a nap! I went to work for a while but then left to go meet my international friend. Her name is Mubera and she is from Bosnia & Herzegovina. She's 23 years old and a fashion major. She seems really cool and is a fun person to hang out with. She has a fashion show on the 20th that I'm going to try to get to. Then it was back to the pool for a bit to get a ride to Kathy's house, the head coach and my boss, for dinner. At the pool Adam, the assistant coach, was talking Jess and Sarah into jumping over the lane flags by jumping off of the diving board. At Kathy's we had pasta salad, chili, corn chips, bread, cookies, and brownies. It was so good and I don't even like chili! Then the team sat around telling stories from years pasts and laughing for over an hour! Once I returned to my apartment I did laundry and watched movies to prevent a repeat of last week!

Job Fair Preparations

I really need to stop staying up until 2am and then not getting up until 10am! Anywoo, dance class was great today because we got to experiment with music and movement for our final performance. Work was better today becasue of how much I got done yesterday. Then I went to the job fair meeting for the Minnesota Private College Job Fair in February. Megan and I are probably going to find another person or two to stay with us downtown for the event since it is a two day event. I really need to go to this in order to find a job. Then, you guessed it, more homework! I think I've finally kicked the European style out of my study habits and it only took 5 and 1/2 months!

Taking Care of Business

I spent the morning running errands and what not because, yet again no Reformation class and I don't have Historiography on Wednesdays. I worked for a long time because there is a ton of stuff to do before our first home meet this weekend! Then I had a movie for class. This time, Bad Day at Black Rock, Westernish movie but not really a Western. Then I did the movie review and went to bed.

Pretty Boring

Dance class, shower, work, dinner, TV, homework, AKS meeting, and then more homework.

Monday, November 08, 2004

Another Late Night

I didn't have Reformation again since Beth was still in New Jersey. Historiography wasn't too bad either. I was reading for Anthropology before class and was getting really tired and decided not to go to class today because the material we were covering wasn't anything I couldn't learn from reading the material. Then I spent the rest of the day doing more homework until the wee hours of the morning yet again!

Ah, Canterbury

I woke up kinda late and headed down to Canterbury to work my usual every other Sunday shift. I was not late, yeah! Then on the way home I stopped at home and had dinner with my parents. Free home cooked food, excellent! They also unloaded their cupboards and freezer on me. Then it was back to school to do more homework.

Swim Meet, or Not

Even though I had set two alarms I slept through both of them! Not good, so as soon as I woke up I called my boss and left a voice mail explaining everything. Then I spent the day doing homework. I didn't even go out that night even though it was Mike's power hour, but he didn't make it out of his apartment! Probably a good thing that I deceided to stay in since I have to work at Canterbury in the morning.

VA Bingo

I woke-up around 9:30 when Susannah came over to smoke with her boyfriend, Gee, who lives downstairs. Chelsea, Susannah, Chelsea's roommate Kim and I run around in PJs, watch TV, and IM until about 11:30 when I head for home when I'll be safe from the buses. I then ran into town to deposit money from the AKS girls for their clothes. After I got from St. Cloud I went swimming since I had not done anything to work out in a while besides dance class. Then it was off to work. My next item on the agenda on my day of no class was volunteering at the VA Hospital for bingo night. After that we went out to Old Chicago for pizza because one of our sorority sisters works there and was on duty that night. Chelsea and I headed back to the Projetcs to watch a few movies one on the We channel and them Kim had rented Raising Helen, which actually was really good. I headed home around 1am.

One Small Step, Is My Large Leap!

I didn't have Reformation class today because my professor's mother is sick and she has gone to New Jersey to see her. Then I accidently slept through my 11:20. After that I worked at the Blood Drive on campus because I am barred from donating ever again since I have lived in England for more than 3 months. I also am doing it because my sororoity is a service sorority. Then it was off to work for a while.

Tonight was opening night of The Oresteia, which is the large theatre show this semester. All the alums come back for opening night. My friend Tom was there! I hadn't seen him since before I left for London! I was so happy to see him! The show was so long and kinda boring; I sort of fell asleep during a part of the second act and I was sitting right next to the director, oops! Although the furies' costumes were amazing! Afterwards there is suppose to be a reception at the BAC, but there wasn't this time for some reason, so we went ahead to the next opening night tradition is that everyone of age and the faculty go to the Midi, the townie bar in St. Joe. So Misty, Lauren, Dickers, Kyle, Nicole, and I headed to the bar with the faculty.

Around midnight I wanted to see who was at Sal's, so I headed on over. I was looking for Heather, but I ran into Chelsea so I hung out and danced with her, Tim, and Chris for a while. I actaully didn't know who was Chris until later in the night, but I'll get to that later. Anyway we were all dancing together and then Tim asked us to come to Chubby's for an after bar, so we headed towards his place (Chubby's.)

It's at this time that I was formally introducted to Tim. We get there and Tim's roommates are not their yet, so Chelsea and I decide to order Gary's but we have it delivered to the Projects. So we head over there and Chelsea ran into two of her guy friends, but I don't remember their names. Once we're there Tim's friends Lance and Chris (yes the same one from the bar) show up when they heard about pizza. Then Lance and Chris want to do some more shots back at Tim's since they are just visiting for the weekend we not drunk enough for their liking, so I decide to go with them since I only had two drinks at the Midi and that was almost two hours ago. Chris finds this bike outside and want me to ride it to Chubby's. The seat is above my waist, so after some jumping, pushing, and coaxing I got on the bike with Chris's help but then fall over so I walk it to Tim's. When we get there it's just Lance and me, Chris disappeared somewhere. Then I decide to go back to Chels's and ran into a girl from my powder puff football team. She stopped by Chels's and then headed back to campus. So it was me, Chelsea, Tim, and the girl from my P.P. team at the Projects. Chelsea and Tim went out back to have a cig when Lance and Luke come over from Chubby's. Luke is Tim's roommate and it happens to be his 22nd birthday. Tim gets upset with Chelsea because she doesn't want to kiss him, actually any guy at this point because she just wants Chelsea free time for now being senior year and all that. Chris comes back from who knows where. Luke and Lance decide to go back to Luke's to get to bed because at this point it's nearly 2 and Luke had class tomorrow. So now it's down to Chelsea, Chris, and me. Chelsea decides to go to bed as well so then Chris trys to talk me into talking to Chelsea to convince her to give Tim another chance since he is a great guy and all that, so says Chris since he is a friend from home and knows him really well. Chris decides to leave because I don't care if he stays or not because he's been paying attention to Chelsea all night and not me. I'm tired and if we're just going to talk I would like him to leave, so he does. I then watch some MTV and VH1 before falling a sleep on the couch around 3 am.

I get woken up at 4 by Chris who is back because he was returning the bike because he thought it was mine. He also tells me that Tim has locked him out of the apartment and he needs somewhere to crash, so I offer him the other couch in the living room where I am. I try to go to sleep but he keeps asking if I'm sleeping over and over again! Then he starts in with the small talk, like where I'm from etc. Next he says that we're obviously not sleeping and that we should sit up and talk more. He comes over to my couch and is under the blanket with me. Then we starting kissing and stuff. Needless to say he doesn't leave until 5:30 and I finally go to sleep for real! Great Night!!!

'New'trition

I slept in yet again, went to dance class, showered, went to work, and then went to another Life Skills 411 event, this one called 'New'trition. It was about different types of healthier foods, cooking well, and shopping on a budget. It was really interesting and helpful. I also won a $10 gift certificate to Cash Wise Foods! Then onto more homework since I didn't do much the day before.

A Sad Day in American Politics

I voted after my classes today I was so proud because this was my first presidental election ever! I went to work and then sat at home with my roommates trying to do homework but was distracted by the election results coming in. I also went to my AKS meeting with hopes that it would distract me from the election more, not so much. When I got back Ashley, Grant and I ordered Gary's pizza and watched the election results until at least 12:30 when we knew Bush had won, BOO! We then went to bed very depressed. That's it I'm moving back to London where your votes actually count for something!!! Who's with me?

One Ridiculously Long Monday!

I went from dance class to anthropology to work to a ASB Dominican Republic trip meeting to the SJU library to the CSB library to the computer lab and then finally back to my apartment. Time frame 1 pm - 1 am. I then stayed up way too late working on two bibliographies for two classes.
