Therapy Thursday

I'm still feeling like shit from the weekend and all of the bad news that I have recieved lately. We de-rigged at practice this morning for the Head of the Miss regatta in Minneapolis, MN on Saturday. Then I had my resume critiqued for E-link, got some strong coffee, and went home and did some job searches. Then I took a nap and went to the building expansion meeting for the BAC. They are starting an addition on the building this summer and wanted to show the students the plans. Then it was time for TV and some homework. I think I'm the road to recovery after all that I got done today.

Whatever Wednesday

At practice I coxed the Women's Open 4 that I am coxing this weekend, they seem to be doing a decent job and should do well on Saturday. I slept throught my classes today, saw my professor to explain what was going on, went to Sam's Club to pick-up a few things, and then went on to work for a while. I also went to Drama Club where we talked about ideas for the Hodge Podge coming up. I grabbed some dinner and went to my Historiography movie.

Tired Tuesday

I actually slepy on the futon in the living room last night because I was up so late that I didn't want to disturb Ashley. I also decided not to go to practice for a while. I did go to my dance class because I though that might make me feel better and it was tons of fun. Then we had the AKS Ice Cream Social for the pledges and I headed over to rec crew, but no one was there yet again, surprise, surprise! Then I watch TV before I went to the crew team board meeting to do the proposal for my long awaited jacket. I was approved, so when we order later this fall I will be getting my jacket finally!

Manic Monday!

I went to practice because everything hadn't really hit me yet. When I got back the knot in my stomach made it really hard to concentrate on anything so I decided that I was not going to classes today because of the family emergency. I did work on sorting out and arranging the pictures I got to replace the ones my broken camera messed-up, which is really good because I really need to get them printed and the scrapbook worked on some more. I also did a bunch of Latin homework that needed to be done since I had so much spare time on my hands. I was watching Miss Congeniality and doing laundry as well.

Not So Relaxing Weekend At The Cabin

So the good news is that I got a lot of homework done, the bad news is that my dad has lost his job again (2nd time in 18 months) and my aunt and uncle are probably getting a divorce! We had a lot of fun up there, but I also had a break-down with my mom and almost didn't come back to school Sunday night, but I decided that I needed to get back because of my homework.

Get Me Out Of Here!

Ok, so we are going, now we're not, nope we are, and finally WE ARE NOT GOING TO IOWA!!! Make up your figgin' minds people! I'm so frustrated that I call my parents and am going to the cabin with them this weekend instead, I don't even care that I'm missing Homecoming! I had my interview for Alternative Spring Break Co-Leader today and think it went pretty well. I worked some as well just trying to keep crew off of my mind. Then I packed and Mom & Dad came! All of us (Mom, Dad, me, my aunt Sage (camp name that stuck) and uncle Lee) went to BoDiddley's for dinner. I haven't eaten their since my freshman year, it's really good! Then it was off to the cabin for a relaxing weekend!

Day From Hell!!!

I took out the Men's 8 boat this morning since I am coxing them this weekend! After classes, I puttzed around, went to work and then went to Tie-One-On for AKS and Homecoming. Then I went to a Life Skills 411 program about fitting in excercise, but had to leave that early to go to de-rigging and loading for crew. We are going to the Head of the Des Moines in Des Moines, IA this weekend. Well it turns out that the trailer is broken and we can't fix it so we are NOT going to Iowa after all, but only after they change their minds about a million times, which is so streesful for us. Besides there is more than can be done before we through in the towel! I was so mad that when I got home I watch Hercules with my roommates and then Bend it Like Beckham in my room and did no homework in protest of the stupid crew board!

AKS Pledge

Yet another indoor practice for the crew team, this isn't good considering we have a reagatta this weekend! After classes and work I went to my first drama club meeting and we played the human knot game, a personal favorite of mine! I had to leave early because I had to go meet my rec crew rowers. After than I met my AKS pledge, Angie. She's super cool and we talked for nearly two hours, she's awsome! She's a sophomore and a party animal, but the best way!

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

It was raining when I got up for practice, so I just went back to bed since I don't do anything on rainy days for the crew team. After class I went into St. Cloud for a bit and then watched TV, since it was such a yuck day. At the AKS meeting tonight we just reintroduced ourselves and did some sisterhood bonding things... get your minds out of the gutter!

Scavenger Hunt

We had indoor practice again today, boo! During my anthropology class we had to do field work, so went to O'Connell's and observed for about a half an hour, which was way better than sitting in class and listening to her yak. Then I did some homework before the AKS Scavenger Hunt for the pledges. That was tons of fun because we sent them all over St. John's looking for all sorts of crazy things! All of the pledges seem really cool!

Powder Puff Football

First we played the freshman girls and they didn't even had enough people on the team, so we had to play 10 man football. Plus some of them showed up wearing jeans! Who plays football in jeans? Anyways we bet them 22-0, then we waited while the juniors played the sophomores. The juniors won, so we played them for the championship. We bet them 6-0, or something like that, although we had a lot of penalties in this game because we were playing way more physically than we were suppose to be. Who cares? WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, my friends, and we'll keep on fighing 'till the end; sorry Queen tangent! After another day in the sun I needed a nap before I made the pledge and big sis shirts for AKS. David was back on television tonight and made it from the final three to the final two, the winner will be decided on October 17th. Please vote for him on VH1.com!

24 Hr. Play Festival

I was an actor in the 24 Hr. Play Festival here at school. All of the shows are writen, directed, casted, rehearsed, designed, and performed by students and in 24 hours! I was in the one last year, but this one was way better! I loved my cast and crew so much. It was really hard, but we all learned out lines early enough that we could actually develope characters and become our characters! It was amazing! My show was about three high school friends and their realtionships with one another. The guy, Charles, like me, Jen, but I am dating someone else and haven't told him, but dont' worry his other friend, Ann, tells him. This crushed him and now I have to explain everything and try to make everything right with us again. I want to stay with my boyfriend, Blake, but I want Charles to be okay with it. Corey and I (Charles and Jen) got so into the performance that we were both almost crying on stage, we had such amazing chemistry! I got that rush that actors get from doing a great performance and performing well! It almost makes me want to be an actress now! I can't say enought about the experience, my cast, and crew; so much fun and so AMAZING!!!

Looooooong Day

Well considering that I went to crew practice after not sleeping at all made practice very interesting for everyone present, especially those poot souls that were in my boat! I'm sure they thought I was drunk or something, nope, just lack of sleep! Then we had another field trip in Reformation, this time it was to the Hill Monastic Manuscript Library, where we looked at old manuscripts from the Reformation. The problem was that I was falling a sleep and right next to the prof.! Then I grabbed some lunch with some of the crewbies before heading to my second class. I got a ride back to St. Ben's from Mark and some of the others guys in my class, which always bets riding the bus. When I got back I finished rinising my shirt out for Powder Puff and then watch some television and took a nap! After that I did some much needed laundry. Last but not least, I had the kick-off meeting for the 24 Hr. Play Festival that I am in starting... NOW!

All-Nighter #1

We had relaxation day in dance class today, which was great! Then I went into St. Cloud, had a History Club meeting, and an Alternative Spring Break meeting. After all of that the Powder Puff team tye-dyed our shirts/jerseys for the games on Sunday. They are blue with black sharpie. They look awsome! Then I stayed up all night writing a paper for Historiography about women's lives on the Overland Trail!

Pizza and Powder Puff

We had indoor practice today which means that I coach on the ergs since I can't row on them. I took a nap, went to my Reformation class, and then took another nap since I don't have Historiography on Wednesdays. In the afternoon I was on the Sophomore Pizza Panel where upper classmen talk about all of their experience here at St. Ben's and dole out advice. All of the women were really cool: Autum, from Career Services; Keli, captain of the swimming and diving team; me; Meghan, my freshman roommate; Mary, the sister of a girl that was in London with me; Liz, Jim from London's girlfriend; and one more girl that I can't seem to remember. I was really fun and we got pizza and pop out of the deal taboot! Then I had to go to a movie for Historiography, boo, since we watch 10 of them during the semester. After that I had Powder Puff practice at St. John's. I'd say about half of the team is back from last year and everyone is rip, rearing and ready to go! We need to win the title this year as seniors!

Crew All Day

I went to practice and coxed novice rowers, then did homework, when to my classes, then attended cox training for regattas since I have one in a few weeks, and then I started my rec crew boat practice today! After all of that we had the first all sisters AKS meeting tonight, which seemes to go well.

David Petruzzi Rocks My World!

Between crew and classes today I finished a paper for my last class and just in the nick of time! While I was at my last class my dad had called and wanted to have dinner. Weird, cause my parents live in Maple Grove, what was he doing in St. Cloud? Anyhoo, my mom was hosting Bunco for the neighborhood and he didn't need to be around the neighbor ladies and came up here to give me my office chair and take me out for dinner. We went to Granite City and had crab chaloupas, buffalo wings, and a chocoale dessert for dinner. It was pouring outside the entire time even knocking out the cable in Granite City. Then my dad headed back home. My best friend's little brother David Petruzzi is one of the finalist on VH1's in search of the Partridge Family for the role of Keith. He made it to the final three contestants tonight!

I Cooked Dinner!!!

I cooked a pork tenderloin in the slow cooker for dinner and it was good! For those of you who know me, I can't cook at all! I puttzed around all day and then went to a joint meeting with the AKS frat board members.

First Football Game of the Season & AKS Slip & Slide!!!

I went to my first football game of the year with my roommates Angie and Cassie and their friends Brenda and Brian. I also visited with my aunt and uncle who go to every game, my uncle is a political science prof. at St. John's. After the game we had a slip and slide with the AKS frat on the roof of the Seton apartments! I can't not express how fun this was! We had burgers, beer, pop, and tons of sun! We all have battle wounds from the slip and slide, but it was so worth it! That night I had to go to Mark Morris which is a modern dance company. I was fairly interesting but all of my outdoor activities had really worn me down. Mark may be friends with Mikhail Baryshinikov, but he's not as good! After that, a quite night at home.

Stop Light Party

I had a movie and meal for myself for lunch today just because I could. Then it was off to work for the swim team for a while, best work study job ever! Then I had to go to Water Saftey Training otherwise Life Saftey will revoke our rowing rights, yikes not good! Then I found out that the crew boys were having a Stop Light party at there place and that I had to be there. Stop Light: green single, yellow messing around, red taken; the idea is that by the end of the night everyone is wearing red, but Life Saftey busted it up at 10:15! The party then moved on to Sal's where great fun was had by all, especially since I ran into my good friend Paul!

Windy Weather

Let's see, didn't go to practice and then nearly fell asleep in my first class. Then I became a couch potatoe until it was time for crew practice but it was too windy to row, so I took a nap instead.

Meetings...

Never ending day of meetings. I had a History Club Board meeting, a Senior meeting for the Career Resource Center, and a Crew meeting. Then it was Susan's power hour!!! She did me proud, 19 shots in just under an hour. The seniors on the crew team took her out to Sal's. Yeah for team bonding! Needless to say she was still drunk at practice in the morning and was not allowed anywhere near the water!

Field Trip

I hadn't been to much crew practice since the season started so today was my first day coxing for the team, it's a little scary since you are responsible for so much! Plus it has been almost a year since I was in a boat. Anyway I think I'm really going to like it. For Reformation class we had a field trip to the Abbey Church at St. John's to see what it is all about to learn about the relics that it has. Believe it or not this was my first time in the Abbey Church ever! Then I drove to Anoka to pick-up an order that I had placed with a co-worker at Canterbury. It was a really pretty drive down Hwy. 10, but I was late for work with the swim team, but I don't think Kathy, my boss and the head coach, was too mad with me. Then I had another board meeting for AKS.

Cabin Fever!

I spent Labour Day Weekend at the cabin with my parents and grandpartens. We went fishing and driving around the lake. I also spent a lot of time doing homework, since it had already piled up quite a bit! It was fun to be away from school and not be working at Canterbury since that is where I should have been! It was a good long weekend.

Fantastic Friday

I took a nap after crew practice as usual, but I did not wake-up with my alarm causing me to oversleep my Latin class today, meh. I also went and got Cynthia Curran to sign my degree application so that my audit can done in order to graduate. Graduating is good. Then we went for an afternoon row. The beach was packed which made getting the 60 ft. boats out of the boat house. It was so warm after practice that we all jumped in the lake, clothes and everything! It was so nice in the lake and we were pushing each other off of the swimming platform etc. Then it was time for me to go to the cabin for the weekend.

Thirsty Thursday

After work I had to be at the Involvement on the Mall, which is the club fair outside at St. Ben's; it's one of the best events of the year, everyone looks forward to it. I worked the tables of AKS Service Sorority, History Club, and the Crew team. Tons of fun was had by all. After Involvement my friends who live at Edelbrock at St. John's were having a BBQ/Bonfire. I went over there and had a blast! Yummy hamburgers, perfect weather, and catching up with old friends, what get's better than this? $7 all you can drink at Sal's of course! Later in the evening Colleen, Joe, Sarah, and I headed to the bar for our first Thirsty Thursday. Good day!

Happy September

In between classes I stopped by the poster sale at St. John's and bought a print of Audrey Hepburn. After another fun and relaxing dance class I went to work again. This time I started working on updating the roster. Then we had a swimming and diving picnic so everyone could meet each other. I had to leave early because I had to watch a movie for Historiography and Methods. It was a silent film about a covered wagon train. I wrote my review and went to bed.
